Energy Transition Strategy- Firecrest Zero

Firecrest Zero was my concept and strategic response to a clear challenge: how do we position BGEN for significant, sustainable growth? As Marketing Director, I identified the energy transition as a high-growth, lucrative market that aligned with our MEICA capabilities. But to succeed, we needed more than technical readiness—we needed a cultural shift, upskilling, and credible proof of our capabilities.

The solution was bold: renovate our existing head office into a fully net zero facility.

This project wasn’t just about a building. It was about showcasing our values, driving internal transformation, and creating a powerful client-facing case study. I led the strategic direction—embedding sustainability into our operations, working with a specialist consultancy, and challenging our staff to deliver something entirely new. They sourced innovative supply chain partners, installed cutting-edge technology (solar, HVAC, rainwater harvesting), and gained hands-on experience that transformed our capabilities.

Firecrest Zero became a cultural beacon, a capability builder, and a commercial differentiator—all in one. It gained national media attention and gave BGEN a tangible, credible edge in the energy transition space.
